Jak wam się podoba?
I miss the days of Harlow drinking a bottle, and running around in diapers. Life isn't "one size fits all." I loved getting recommendations from friends and family, regarding what worked for them when it came time to toilet train, etc. The beauty of parenting is that you take all the advice you're given, and you apply it in a way that best works for you. I always found it frustrating or annoying when someone looked down at us when Harlow was nearly 4years old, and in diapers. Because, you know what? I love nothing more than being judged by a complete stranger. Hey, complete stranger. Guess what? We've tried potty training. She hates it. She is terrified of the toilet. She cries. And it always broke my heart when she did. To me, it was her way of communicating that she wasn't ready. Harlow started 4 year old kinder wearing a diaper. Not ideal, but it is what it is. It took her a matter of 4-6 weeks to figure out, "Hey! Everyone else is using the toilet. I want to use the toilet, too." And, then. We were done with diapers. Same with her bottle. Harlow had one up until she turned 5. She would take one in the morning, and *gasp* a bottle at bedtime. A few days after she turned 5, she ditched both her bottle and milk, overnight, altogether. She just decided that she was done. If you have a little one who is 2, 3, 4, OR, even 5, who is still in a diaper, or who still takes a bottle - relax, everything will work itself out. Live in the moment. Once this time passes you can never have it back. Harlow is now 5. She is out of diapers and off the bottle. And I will forever miss those days.
